Going to be swapping a M42 from a E36 into my E30 next month, just want to know if a couple of the bits are the same, like the exhaust manifold and thottle body?

Also, fuel rail and injectors, and lower intake manifold?

Thanks!

Search

Intake manifold can stay although the E30 item is better. Sump, dipstick, pickup pipe need to be swapped, also the pulley setup needs to be swapped in order for it not to foul the dipstick. Not sure if the exhaust manifold needs to be swapped. The loom will need to be modded to fit.
Not in E30s any more :(

I tried searching!

I know the bits I need to swap, its other little things im wondering about, such as the throttle body. If its the same I can spend the next few weeks playing around polishing it up and opening it a little bit. The exhaust manifold, if its the same I will get it wrapped, and check for any cracking before I fit it. Swapping the engine in a day you see, daily driver :( so doing as much prep as I can.

Its a early E36 engine... so think the loom is ok... well, hope.

Cheeerrrsss :)
