Are you in the motor trade? or freinds with any one who is? Because if so, get/get them to get a halfrauds trade card.

It'll knock probably £30 off of the price of that battery and gives you trade discount on oils, fluids, tools, bulbs, belts etc etc.

I lent mine to my dad and he got a £95 battery for £50

The halfrauds batteries all come with a years warrenty (maybe longer) iirc, so if it goes in a year just drag it back and get it replaced.

Got a 60 amp battery from Sutton Auto Factors in Lincoln for £45. :D You should be able to find similar more local i would have thought. Halfrauds would be the last place I tried.

Earlier last year got an OE battery from local BMW dealer (65amp) for £70 :)

Generally, the price of almost all car parts has gone up recently, and will continue to do so.

First it was the cost of core materials which has now steadied a little, now it's the exchange rates affecting a lot of U.K. suppliers who buy goods in from abroad.
The euro, yen and U.S. dollar are all much stronger against the pound than they were a short while ago, and it's still getting worse at the moment! :(

I'm not making it up or guessing, I know all this because it's my job to know! :D

+1
All the usual places do reasoonable priced batteries with 3 sometimes 4 years warranty. (Kwik-Fit - A.T.S. - National Tyres - etc... etc...) Phone around first and they will all try to beat each other, believe me it's worth the time & trouble, keep going back & back with improved offers from their opposition. You can save another 30% that way for the sake of half a dozen phone calls.
