I'd like to install a switch(hidden)to immobilise my baby when i'm not around...cant afford a proper system!

The Q is;which wire from the ignition circuit should i cut n paste to the switch so it works? :D

None of them! Ignition immobilisers can be bypassed in seconds.
Tee a wire into the green/purple wire to the fuel pump, where it emerges from the fuse box duct behind the glovebox and disappears behind the speaker panel, and connect it to a hidden switch, or a very obvious unlabeled switch on the dash (second demister switch), with the other wire from the switch connected to earth.
If an attempt is made to hot wire the car, as soon as the engine is started, fuse 11 will blow, and the engine will die.

id go for the main live feed personally. however if no lights come on the scum might catch on to this. Although they generally arent that intelligent. Ive was working on a non-starting astra once and they tried to hotwire it even though they keys were in it and the bat was out!

I carry a four feet length of wire in my glovebox, with a crocodile clip on either end.
One clip on the battery +, the other on the ignition coil +, and it's all bypassed!

its only logic! not witchcraft.
best bet is the not obvious fuel pump fuse thing.

a big disclock for the steering wheel is the best DETERRANT.

£79.99 in halfrauds! think its still the only thatcham approved steering wheel lock. think whatcar tested 20 locks a few years ago and it won.

good thing about wheel locks like this is they only have to look thru the window to know the're guna have a hard time stealing the car. whereas with a sneaky switch some where, even if they cant drive it away, theyve still had to break the window/butcher the door lock, smashed the steering column plastics, ragged the wiring about to find out........
