I just hope for your sake that the blood samples that your waiting to find don't come from any little kids that run there hands along your car.
And if someone tries to pinch the badge and gets cut you'll probably find your car smouldering pile of scrap metal.

so you would have to pull it off to get cut and i will risk a torching to show people that unlike half the population i will not stand back and let people do what they want to my property just because the law and society allows it .

I know where your coming from.
The police around my area don't appear to give a crap about any dammage that happens or cars that go missing, you have to order them to come and fingerprint any evidence and get a crime number.
There opinion seems to be if you leave your property in the street its your problem.
The only time they jump all over it is if the car's worth more than 40k and they then get a hard time from the insurance companies.
That or they think it's part of some international car smuggeling ring and the chance of a promotion
Anyway if your lucky enough to see some tit messing with your car remember to overcome the urge to shout at them and just quietly creep up to them and give them a good dig or three

I had a cracked and blistered set of badges with the white bits chipped off. One week after I bought a new set off ebay for $15 front and rear, and quite proud of their shinyness, some dude pinched the front one. Thankfully he used something less abrasive than a screwdriver, and I had no paint damage to go with the theft, and the tea leaf was even kind enough to leave the rubber grommits on it.
Past associate of mine caught some korean guy trying to steal the front badge off his E36 M3, and left in such a hurry that he left his credit card still between the badge and the bonnet. They are not smart people.
