Not sure about BMW electrics yet as I still havent got one but as for the lock - maybe the connecting rod between the lock and the knob's have broke or fallen away?
If its done by electrics maybe there is a loose wire on the motor which moves the lock?

For the OBC, there's a little button that you press with the nib of a pen on the bottom right corner. Press this and you'll be able to set the time\date etc

I fitted my first OBC a few weeks ago, and had exactly the same as you. Was convinced it was faulty at first, but after a bit of experimenting with the buttons, I eventually got the hang of the thing.
For your door locks - problem is probably either the microswitch on the drivers door handle mechanism or the plug and socket in the door pillar where the door wiring plugs in.
Does the central locking work with the key in the passanger door?

You can change it to ENGLISH from German by pressing the AVG MPG button and then using a pen, pin, paper clip to push the little recessed button in the lower right hand corner. It should cycle through language optionslarzc wrote:

The lighting issue is a little white circuit board/light assembly behind the disply. The run about $40 US @ our dealers, should be cheaper on your side of the pond.
Read here for instructions on taking apart the dash to get to the light bar:

The lighting issue runs to two small bulbs at about 40p each if you're any good with a soldering iron. CPC order code SC00337.
Do you have more info on those bulbs...we can't seem to find ones that work this side of the pondBrianmoooore wrote:The lighting issue runs to two small bulbs at about 40p each if you're any good with a soldering iron. CPC order code SC00337.

I fitted the OBC without all that dimantling.
Remove the access panel to the right of the glovebox, the radio, the radio mounting frame and the hazard light switch.
Using a largish jewellers type philips screwdriver reach in around the left hand edge of the dash and prod around with the screwdriver until you engage with the OBC left hand fixing screws. Unscrew each of them a few turns, but don't unscrew them completely and let them fall or you'll never see them again.
Now reach in through the radio hole and unscrew the right hand two OBC fixing screws. Unscrew these completely, and catch them as they come out. OBC can now be pushed back at the right hand side, slid slightly to the right, and removed.
To replace, slide the OBC back into the left hand screws, tape a screw to the tip of the screwdriver with a bit of insulating tape and replace the right hand screws. Ensure the OBC is sitting in its mount properly, and tighten the left hand screws.
Got quite good at this, after removing the unit from the donor, after finding I couldn't fit the plug with the OBC in place, after I found the light bar was faulty, and after I thought the unit was faulty.

Bulbs I used are 5V 60mA 0-63 lumens, which looks about the right brightness. There are two required and they are connected in series, so one out, both out. They should both be replaced, even if only one has failed. CPC website is www.cpc.co.uk.
