Whats a good suspension kit for a 325 sport?
If money was no option id have KW coilovers as ive had them on my M3 and they worked well.
I just want a good kit that will lower the car and take into consideration the sports already lower 15mm!
I would just go for springs and leave the dampers but ive found that usally a uprated set of springs will over power the OEM dampers and its best to have a match set plus if its too low its bouncey because the dampers dont have enough run, unless anyone can advise me other wise!
Has anyone tried these or the other cheapo ones on ebay from belgium i know Bilstein B6 Sport kit would be a good buy but does anyone know how much better this is over the standard Mtec kit?
Ive found that the new dampers a springs that ive got are quite firm anyway.
If anyone knows of a kit that is really hard then thats for me lol
just finding it!
Any help would be great
Dan

I take it you mean a set of B6's or B8's and then buy a set of HR springs?
Do you get a choice of spring rates with those?

If not H&R's then eibachs.
B8's with 35/40mm springs.
B6's with 60mm springs

On the 60 60 drop does it look right the back of the car is slightly high than the front rather than the normal car sitting level but the rear arches givenm the illusion of a boot full of bricks!
Or is it best to go for more of a drop on the front than the rear?

I think so, it looks too low IMO
Plus if you do it with only the springs and not the matched dampers its bouncy because theres not enough run on the shocks!
It would be nice it find a happy medium!
Ive always used coilovers so i could adjust the height, bump rebound ect but i dont need that on this car just a nice firm set with the right looking stance for the car.

Can you buy them together?
Or do you get your own dampers and then buy the springs?
What dampers B6 or B8?
And does anyone know the spring and damping rates of the two?
My apologies for asking so many questions but when ever ive had springs, dampers ive always bought them by rates

B8's an B6 are two types of Bilstein.
Eibachs have to be bought seperate from the B8's.

Yeah happy with that but which ones do you recommend? the B8's are designed to be fitted with lower springs, so i take it the others arent!B8's an B6 are two types of Bilstein.
B6's have a shorter damper rod so are used with 60mm springs.dannyboy759 wrote:Yeah happy with that but which ones do you recommend? the B8's are designed to be fitted with lower springs, so i take it the others arent!B8's an B6 are two types of Bilstein.

Both are of the inverted type.
Just go for either H&R or eibach 35mm springs and B8's.

Cheers
Hello mate, just had a look on the evolve website and it says the B8's have the shorter damper - can you confirm which ones are which, just want to be sure as I'm going to order some and dont want my car too low.bss325i wrote:B6's have a shorter damper rod so are used with 60mm springs.dannyboy759 wrote:Yeah happy with that but which ones do you recommend? the B8's are designed to be fitted with lower springs, so i take it the others arent!B8's an B6 are two types of Bilstein.

Simon13 has a pic showing 3 or 4 types of bilstein shocks.RSlut wrote:Hello mate, just had a look on the evolve website and it says the B8's have the shorter damper - can you confirm which ones are which, just want to be sure as I'm going to order some and dont want my car too low.bss325i wrote:B6's have a shorter damper rod so are used with 60mm springs.dannyboy759 wrote: Yeah happy with that but which ones do you recommend? the B8's are designed to be fitted with lower springs, so i take it the others arent!

B8's 100% have the longer damper rod and are better suited to 35/40mm springs.
Alright mate,
I've got a Bilstein B12 kit fitted to my sport. Kit came with B8's (but could be wrong) and Eibach springs. Doesn't really affect the ride height that much, maybe 5-10mm but made a huge difference. Rides just as smooth as original M-Tech kit but then stiffens up just right when you need it.
Kit should have been 510 pounds from Demon Tweeks but got it for 470, i know there are a few on here who have paid around 440 from other stockists.

It will drop a little bit more after a few thousand miles have been put on.al-g wrote:Alright mate,
