likely fooked turbo. mine belched blue smoke to the extent you couldnt see behind you when you eased off after hard boost. £800 for a new turbo
the new turbo doesnt smoke but you still smell the oily smell from behind in traffic. it seems to be their way.normal oil consumption is regarded as a litre per 500 miles.

for the M42 in the iS there are three distinct software versions and each requires its own tuned file, they all use the 175 ECU part number however.

the gains from a generic chip arent worth the time of day... from my experience they arent! i posted the dyno results of my chip a while back, the only real way to go is a live remap.fuzzy wrote:a 15% power increase for under £30 seems a bit optimistic but you never kbow until someone trys and reports back.

i was told a few years ago that a 5% increase on a 325 was realistic but that was a chip selling at over £200.baring in mind its generic off the shelf chips and not live remaps that will give me 370bhp from the basic 204 on my engine so its not always so clear cut as crap because its off the shelf.
there used to be a company called chipped uk that done some chips for the e30s. are they still around. reasonable prices iirc and people seemed happy with them. was tempted to get one to stick in my 325.

yes there was fuzzy!!fuzzy wrote:wasnt there a lot of bad press regarding these guys?
just looked on their site. no longer offer chips for the e30 by the looks of it. so who's this evolve that's mentioned above? not interested in huge figures, if it makes it drive nicer then that's what i'm after.

i used to get the local boy racers pulling up alongside ,waving and revving just to get me to blast away in this....

i had to open the boot to fill it with petrol. it was only stage 1 263bhp but it was light with a supra back axle and lsd.

I tend not to give the traffic light GPs a go, as I know my little 4potterer will fail against most things.magpie wrote:i get saxo's now but i only have an IS,for now.
