To give you an idea, my mate on here bought a 318 lux, near enough mint for 1300 with 60k on the clock

End of the day, its how much someone is willing to pay for it.

Exactly this. It's too a special car to give a ball park figure for, 30k FSH E30s don't come up everyday.

Personally I wouldn't spend 4 figures on it, but again, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay.[/quote]

Can't see the point of using it as a daily driver - why pay a premium for the low miles and then put loads of miles on it? Wouldn't a 70/80/90k miler be a better bet as it won't be so likely to have problems associated with lack of use?

I sold a rust free Luxorbeige 320i SE 4dr auto with 85k for £600 a few months ago as it was surplus to requirements - does the extremely low miles and a better colour make this 318i 3 times the car for daily use? I'm absolutely not saying the car isn't worth £1500 - it most definitely is to a concours geek, maybe more - I'm just saying it doesn't make sense to buy it just for daily transport when there are other more suitable and cheaper cars about.

Having said that, I can see the attraction of buying an as new e30 and just using it as intended - it's not as financially daft as buying a brand new car after all, and I've done that myself!

after a hard think he has decided he would rather spend the money on a cheap e39 or e36 touring

he is tempted by a 540i e39  or a cheaper e30 touring

its a shame either way because the guy who owns it currently said he will only sell if the rite money comes along (1500-1700) but if we dont buy it he will end up keeping it, he has had the car 2 weeks and it shows signes that he smokes in it
