Hey all,

I'm adding side repeaters to my '88 Touring. I've got new fenders with the factory cutouts, but there doesn't appear to be any holes in the inner fender to run the wiring into the passenger compartment. Should there be a knock-out blank somewhere? There is a fair amount of that painted-on factory goop on the inner fender, so might it be hiding behind that?

Photos/help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

ARe you sure they are proper bmw WINGS? I though all bmw WINGS had the proper cut out, apart form really early e30's. Lots of after market WINGS don't have cut outs, you have to do it your self.....not what you want to do to a new panel.

Fender=WING!

Dont think Canada spec BMWs had side repeaters, so even genuine replacement wings won't have them.
Would expect to find the inner wing holes there though (almost straight in from where the repeaters go), and the connectors as well (blue/red and brown, and blue/black and brown).

Dang! Sorry, I used North American-speak again. Yes, the new wings/fenders are gen-u-ine BMW parts with the proper factory cutouts for repeaters. They're just fine.

The problem is with the inner part of the wheel housing (ie: what you see once you've removed the wings). There should be a factory hole that goes through into the under-dash area so I can hook up the wiring, which is all there. The car was originally registered in Germany (no side repeaters) and then custom imported to Canada last year, if that makes any difference.

It's just what appears to be about a 20mm hole filled with a rubber grommet. Easily drilled if not already there.
