one question for you..how are you going to do the throttle bodies and supercharger?.....just buy the bits and bang it all together? that could get expensive buying off the shelf parts. and if you are planning on fabricating your own stuff, then you should know the answers to your own question anyway.

you'll need something like megasquirt to i would have thought.

megasquirt is what?? a standalone ecu?

i will fabricate the supercharger and intercooler pipework my self i know more than enough about forced induction just not BMW's im a 200sx and SKyline man myself normally,

my question was how do throttle bodies react to forced induction?

Are you saying that the 323 has throttle bodies already?

Hey Andy,

What sort of charger are you planning on using? If it's a centrifugal type then you shouldn't have any problems with the throttle bodies but if it's a positive displacement type then you're better off sticking with a single throttle upstream of the charger.

The problem with chipping a N/A engine is that it still has no way of knowing what the manifold pressure is which is kind of important for both fueling and ignition.

The Megasquirt mentioned can use a MAP sensor to do just this, think it can control ignition too which is a bonus!

Turbo Brown i i would be using a basic roots charger prob an eaton M ? cant remember the exact number but its the one up from the M45 mini one the M65? basically going for about 200bhp on the 323 engine how much are the mega squirts as obviously fuelling and timing are the concern

Yeah, they're positive displacement chargers and you'll most likely have problems running that with TBs :(

Just a pedantic point to note that they're not simple roots blowers, they're quite a bit more efficient than roots chargers due to the helical rotors.

Ant and Fozzymonster are the people to talk to about the Megasquirt kit as that's what they're running.
