Why O why do you insist on replacing a 2.5 with a 2.5 ????fowler wrote:Scrap that old boat anchor and put a 24V in it witha rotrex now yout talking LOL

I want to go faster not the same and have to spend more cash to get there.
I beat every 24v with my 12v that went up against me at pod two year's running.

I'm not an expert on this but I can tell you this much.
One very good option is the e12 528i standard cam its 272 degrees should give a nice plus without the engine starting to get uneven revs at idle. part number 11 31 1 254 979.
Secondly I can tell you that Hartge made a 270 bhp M30 engine using the schrick 282 cam, throttle bodies from a M88 engine and a gasflowed M30 cylinderhead with 47 mm intake and 39 mm exhaust valve 10,2:1 compression and an ECU that could deliver the fuel, rev limiter at 6400 rpm.

yup they did byt to a M3034 if I'm correct who has the abiity to rev harder the the latter M3035 found on the E34 and E32 perhaps that's why they got away with it...H35-24 wrote:I'm not an expert on this but I can tell you this much.

I was looking at itb's yesterday funny enough.. The ecu is the easy bit as I have one of jason's (cuk) old chip's avalible. Wild as can be.. Not sure I want to put in a 282/280 cam as the rockers are prone to braking at high rev's on these lump's. Been looking at more of 274/278 to get the mid range torque.
Will look into the e12 cam as i know where there is a whole cracked head and i know the cam and folowers are nearly new and not going back into the car it came from...
Cheer's for the info on that..

The Schrick 284 was fine in mine, no rocker issues, make sure you get new rockers, genuine BMW one's if you can afford them, also get some of the uprated valve springs.
If you use some sort of mapperble ECU it will make passing the tick over MOT emissions easier and give you a smooth stock like tick over.
Mine ticked over smoother with slightly too much fuel to pass the mot, but all you do is take the fuel off for the mot then put it back up for the rest of the year.

24v is a better engine weighs less than the old 3.5 donk and can produce same Hp as 3.5 donk quite easily. Why O why do you insist on replacing a 2.5 with a 2.5 ????

3.5 218bhp and simlar torque me thinks.
just evolution mate!!!
but regards to the cams agreed with the 274 cam. as M30's don't like being revved!!!
