Heater motor

Hi Guys,

Had a post here a while ago about my heater blower motor not working, so I sourced a replacement motor and resistor from www.e30partz.com and replaced the two of them - and now it still doesnt work

Could it be that I got dud parts or could the problem lie elsewhere?

Bit of background, fan stopped working except for speed 4 then I took it out gave it a bit of WD40 and all four speeds started working for a day or two, then it knackered completely.

As far as I know the switch is working, is this the only other possibility? Not sure how to test it

sounds like the varistor in switch is knackered dude slave in 2nd hand switch an see if that solves your woes HTH

Does the fan run if you apply power directly to it?

Panic over, got my hands on a voltage tester with a light on it for pittance in the local motor factors and narrowed it down to a blown fuse.

Fuse replaced and now I have glorious heat!!

I wasn't even cold but took it out for a spin with the heat on full blast cause I missed it so much!

Now to sort out all the other rust, leaks and crap thats wrong with it
