The plan is a big pre-planned drive, on some of the most challenging and scenic roads in the country, across two national parks, we’ll even go past Dartmoor prison! I’ve planned regular stops to allow people to re-group, and set off again in convoy. Eventually we’ll get to the Plume Of Feathers (pub with big enough car park and good food) in Princetown on Dartmoor where we’ll stop and have a carvery and drinks. Either or, but non alcoholic as you’ll need your wits!!! Carvery is £7.95, a kids carvery is £4.95. I need two weeks to book the food, no payment is required, it’s just they won’t have space for us! You don’t have to eat if you don’t want to, but I certainly will it was very good!

It’s a long drive, so please try and start with enough fuel, it’ll be a lot easier to keep together, there are only two petrol stations en-route! I’d like to add that people are welcome to leave before the end, or to meet us along the way at one of the stops, please advise if you are planning do this so we can be sure to collect you!

I will print off directions for everyone who puts their name down, but bring a map it will needed if you lose the convoy!

So close to X-mas the roads will be almost empty it will make progress very much easier!

I’ve driven the route today and every mile is just fantastic!

Look forward to seeing you! Alex

This looks fantastic!!

Would be worth marking a map with the route on here, very difficult to contain over enthusiastic e30 drivers. Some will get lost!

Your enthusiasm is much appreciated! I can assure you, It will be a great day!

Are you coming? If so get the list started, and make a note if you're wanting a carvery and for how many people.

With the regular re-groups and much use of mobile phones I'm sure we'll be able to keep together! The traffic will be quiet, helping as well. For those worried about navigating I'll lead (unless anyone wants to go faster) so for the most part it'll just be a case of follow the E30 in front!!! I've avoided town centres with this in mind!

You're welcome to volunteer the map, I couldn't find a decent solution so I put the directions down instead.
A detailed map with the whole route on needs to be A3 minimum! Hence I've recommended people bring their maps. I don't go anywhere without one, but I'm anal. You may however, have already guessed! :)

All the best Alex

Well Im up for it. Family/work commitments allowing.

Only 2 comments I have Alex is 1. It is bloody close to xmas, might make it hard for a lot of people to attend and 2. do you want it a zone only thing or all bm's?
I pimped out the last meet across every BM forum in the land lol and still only got 25 cars to turn up.

Alex, I am very tempted. I'll almost definatly come as long as i'm free on the day. The 21st is nagging at the back of my mind for some reason. Closer to the date i'll confirm and put my name down.

PM back in a minute or five.

My mum gets back from the USA for a week on the 21st, so I wont be able to make it. Gutted.

I went on a Dartmoor meet a couple years ago. A lot of fun. The ramblers hated the cataclysmic din of 6 pots howling over the moors.

A fair few did get lost. There was lots of e36's and a couple 8's too IIRC.

I'm up for this, I love having a blast down some twisties! Car had a few running issues but it seems to have sorted itself now. I think she needs a good drive like this because I've been using her for my daily commute of 90 miles and shes probably got a bit clogged up with the economical driving! I've convinced a mate to be navigator too.

My only issue is she's only a 316i so I'm going to struggle to keep up with you 6 pots but I'm going to enjoy trying winkeye

I'd really love to attend,
but at the moment I don't have a roadworthy/taxed/insured car.

I live near Moretonhampstead (the finish line) so it's an ideal route for me.

So! Would anyone mind having me as a passenger, please?

Alex, would a pick-up from Taunton train station be possible?
I'll probably still attend if not. Just being lazy...

Is anyone going up the A30 to get there? Or anyone from Exeter?
If so, then I wont need to take a train, or bother Alex to pick me up from t'station.

So yes, if someone will take me as a passenger, then you can count me in.

I need a car...

Sorry but the Mrs is in my only spare seat, I've got 4-point harnesses so no space behind. Good luck with the lift!

Perhaps worth delaying until the end of January? It's very close to xmas and I imagine peoples pennies will be spent on prezzies?
