ok so just noticed a knocking, cluncking noise when i pull away some times and various times when i declerate, also put it in reverse and it did the same, sounds quite like a engine mount has gone but checked that,
what bushes mounts should i look for, the most recenet work ive done is changimg the diff, i did all the nuts up as tight as i could with a normal wrench and they felt very tight, should i check that none of the bolt/nuts have come lose??

yer i thoght that , just had a thought and i remeber seeing cracked rubber on the mounts for the crossmember on the back maybe its that? but its like metal to metal sound rather than a mount gone

i know exactly what it is, have you been drifting or ragging it hard?
you said you had your diff off, is it new??
i am a drifter and have gone through 2 lsd diffs and a standard one in a year just driftin on the roads, my current one is banging and clunking and it is on it way out!!yet again!!! i reckon just like me, yor going to have to buy a new diff!!!!

Could be a knackered diff fella,
hope not. Double check all the rear mounts, like upper (especially) and lower shock mounts, the diff mounts and check the health of the prop doughnuts.
Have known exhausts to knock, but I'd assume that was a different one to the one you have described.

yer i was thinking that, my last diff had heat scores were the plant gears were till they gave way while trying to do a wheel spin up a hill out of a juction, i tend not to drift or ragg it like dump the clutch i usserly let the clucth out then put me foot down, ive got over my rwd madness infact i ate two rear tyres in the space of 4 months from continuly driffiting any corner or junction were safe of course but with my miches on th back i find it hard to drift with the open box, but it stops me which is a good thing!!

I can hear the crusher calling for it...
You yearn for economy, a bit of poke and what seems to be some reliability. Why not just buy a brand new civic which isnt worn out and the owners forum is full of posts like, what is a gear level, and other bollocks which you can merrily post away on.
P.S have you looked at your centre prop bearing recently?

Bollocks to this 24v scrap!

Hello again Zimmer, you said "knocking or clunking". That would suggest play in propshaft joints more than diff wear/failure, if you removed the prop did you adjust the preload correctly??zimmer-320i wrote:yer ill get it on the ramps and put my unexperinced knolage to use (isnt that right Bewdley320T)
Nobody minds a lippy little tw*t, it's when the the lippy little tw*t keeps coming out with bullsh*t that we get p*ssed off.

i would check diff mounts, centre bearing, donut or top mounts of rear shock absorbers.
and to adjust centre bearing preload you need to slide thebearing housing 3-5 mm toward the gearbox and then tighten, but not doing this may casue vibration not knocking,
best test for diff mounts is in 5th gear doing about 60mph and go on and off the throttle, if you hear a clunking then its most likely the diff bushes

I noticed he said that any thread which you've posted in will be a laugh. Bit ticked off and rather drunk, I've been reading his older posts, and he's really been giving you hassle, and worse than that he's been turning everyone else against you too.
