Hello all,

i have a 1989 325 sport and i am going to change the suspension set up
but i am having problems with which one to put on the car. I am hoping
someone can suggest which is the better out of KONI, BILSTEIN, SPAX
etc or are they all about the same.I am not looking to use a coil over set
up thanks in anticipation

Hi changed my suspension this week and lowered it 40mm all round i put g max suspension on! well pleased with the out come the ride isnt hard and it loves the bends!!

But what a job my orignal suspension was a nightmare to get off!!! The back wasnt to bad but the front was awful the absorber must have been as old as the car struggled to get the nut off the absorber it was solid!!

If u decide to lower it, lower the front more than the back because it looks abit funny

bilstein is the best of your list

H&R cup is certainly one of the best.

You can get it through myself at a very good price.

however, H&R are out of stock at the moment so there is a bit of a wait.

i've not heard good things about spax through people in the trade, seems bilstein, h&R are the names to choose.

Cup kit is awsome if u can live with the big drop

or go with -35mm springs and billy dampers which is also very good, my car has this

How much is the zone price for the H&R kit? Might be interested in a while.

Hello again,
thanks to all of you who replied to my question this has given me something to go on i think i will head for the Bilstein or Gmax set up as i dont want to drop the car too much. The car currently has Leda suspension all round and the ride is horrendous on our crap roads!!

Yeah LEDA's bloody good :bling: but more track oriented
Should be adjustable though? I'd contact LEDA themselves and see if they can recommend some more UK road friendly settings?
Cheers,
Robin

Just had a look at LEDAs webpage and the E30 kits range from Ԛ£890 to Ԛ£1770 just to put things into some kind of perspective, and you're thinking of replacing it with a Ԛ£300odd kit?!
Cheers,
Robin

Hello all again,
I know what you must be thinking but as i said the system is more akin to track use not for our roads, when you get a nice bit of smooth road its fine
but when that 100 yards or so is finished the ride is very hard and bumpy
even on the softer setting which cannot be doing the car much good as a whole. It is also damaging the tyre sidewalls because of this.
