Hi guys,

It only just occured to me. If anyone here works in the automotive industry (I.E. a car dealer, breaker, mechanic... pretty much ANYTHING that might be related to cars at all) you need to get down to halfords, Go to the parts desk and ask for a Halfords Trade Discount Card! I work there and used to have a card myself so I have done quite a few transactions on the 'Trade Discount' scheme... and MY GOD is it cheap! The card covers everything component based, eg brake disks, pads, filters (oil, air fuel etc) electrical components lights, brake fluid, spark plugs, gaskets, you name it!!

A good example is the electical components. As you probably know Halfords sell the little bags of bits and they are prices from Ԛ£1 up to Ԛ£4.50. A set of components that costs the average Joe Ԛ£2.19... trade price.... Ԛ£0.22!!!! things like oil filters are almost half price and similar on everything for a full service and more!!!

I am posting cos I think it could save you all some money... but unfortunately not me cos I had to give mine up.... because I work there (HOW ANOYING!) :x

I hope this saves you all some money :D

to be fair guys, I have never checked for ID to proove the place of work of the person... so as bmw jon said.. BLAG IT! hehe

Its well worth a try, if you get cornered.. "oh, didn't bring any with me, was just passing and saw your advertisment for the trade card thought it would be useful to my business" as they should all have adverts up behind the parts desk.. and they will probably fall for it as all stores want to get ahead on trade sales.

hope this helps guys... happy bargins
