Slightly OT but is that just a 'plug 'n' play' option to add dimming lights?

Cheers.

Follow these instructions if you want to retrofit delayed lights...

http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/inde ... Delay_Unit

Lights dont dim with the OE relay. They simply turn off after 8 seconds.

You can connect a continuity meter to the pin at the delay module's socket, and check for continuity or otherwise to earth as you lift/release the door handle, but if the car wasn't fitted with a delay module from the factory, then it won't have the door switch.

Yes, if you don't have the door switch.

We ARE talking about something completely different, but it's possible to do as you say. Simply disconnect the direct connection to the interior lights from the pin switches, and run a wire from the switches to the TK and TG pins instead.
The standard set up only works on the driver's door anyway, so I also convert the passenger door as well.

Disconnect the existing light wire from the pin switch, connect a new piece of wire in it's place, and run it over to the driver's side and connect it to the TK and TG pins as well.

The only problem I had is in the wright up it says cut the brown/green wire and join it to the brown/yellow wire is this at the back of the relay or do you cut the plug off and connect it to brown/yellow wire.??

Please help as I think I was so close but so far

Cut the brown/green a couple of inches from the module.
Tee the piece that comes from the module into the brown/yellow wire.
Abandon the rest of the brown/green that disappears towards the door socket.

One think I did notice is there seems to be a power wire for the alarm (bmw alarm) pluged in to the relay socket :?
