Hi guys,

I bought a new E30 earlier this year, '89 white Cab, 89k, garaged all its life.
Problem is, I don't have a garage and after the summer ended and a few rainy nights came along I realised the roof was leaking after opening the doors in the morning to find damp patches on the two front seats.
I'm getting the roof replaced in a couple of days, and the seats will also be replaced with leather ones but I'm worried about any possible other damage to this otherwise very good condition example.

Does anyone have any advice in terms of what to look for when it comes to unobvious water damage, and how to treat it?

Cheers

While getting the roof replaced, i would also get the seals replaced as well. The one's that go along the roof line.

Lift up the carpet and check there for rust
