when the clutch on this fails is it possible to just "jam" it on somehow to save replacing it?

If you really want to fix it you could try welding the nut to the viscous housing but it would then over cool the engine when not required and use more petrol.

you could drill a hole straight through it and put a nut and bolt through. Will use more petrol an make more noise though.

Mine has been permanently on since the rebuild as it wouldnt come off without lots of heat. Looks like the heat screwed the clutch inside.
Might change it for a new one but it will do no harm in this weather being on all the time.

ive just replaced it, but the thing isnt working, when i start it from cold it comes on straight away but within a few minutes its off, i think i need a thermostat as that seems to be missing

Ԛ£35 from german and swedish, same make as the one that comes off. Ԛ£140 from BMW, which one did I buy hmmmmmmmmm.

just put a new thermostat in it, and the fan still seems to not work, and it still wants to overheat, i think i need a new water pump
