spotted in a car breaker's yard today: a 2-door 'b' reg e30. i was working on another car (e36 compact) and casually glanced over and saw the e30. i thought to myself "shall i bother having a look?" as it looked rusty, was a gold colour, had no front fogs, h/l/w/w, skirts or anything desireable being immediately obvious. i finished doing what i was doing, then thought "why not? you never know." am i glad i did! it had fitted: tech2 boot spoiler (genuine), complete bootlid toolkit (inc. the £60 winkeye white plastic window-winder thingy), opening rear windows, full leather sports interior, rear blind parcel shelf, full 13 button on-board computer, and momo alpina-style steering wheel :D i started to remove the steering wheel and saw a lever. "what's that?" i thought, cruise control! :woohoo: then looked at the centre console. "what's that button for?" air conditioning! :woohoo: :woohoo: i rushed round to check under the bonnet and yes, both fitted. gold e30: prepare to be raped tomorrow! :teehee:

make sure the rear end is in the air turn one wheel ( or rear hub if there's no wheels on it ) and get some one to tell you if the other side is turning in the same direction if it is then its an lsd if its turning the opposite way its an open diff

i know, you do have to be quick! however, i am a very good customer (loyalty card holder! :teehee: ) and if i say i'll have it. it's mine, no worries. i had a quick go on it today (got the boot spoiler, cruise and a/c switch, but was beaten by time/weather/light, etc.) so will get the other bits + check the diff, gearbox etc in the next couple of days. christmas shopping can wait! :chuckle:

i also took the obc off today. what a bloody nightmare! i've removed a few of these before with not too much trouble but this one wanted to stay where it was! also, the horn was near the fuse box, weird. i've never seen one located there before. it was original as it even had a proper bmw oe black plastic cover over it. maybe because it was one of the very earliest OBCs fitted (1983/4).

Start it, then do a monumental wheel spin and count the black marks. You want to see two.
