hi just brought this car and need to replace bottom ball joints, tried to do this today and had a right game so ive decided to change the bottom arm, now ive heard that e30 arms fit and are much better is this true are they the same and can i just change the one side or would it be better to change both to the e30 set up and are all e30 arms the same help needed asap which is me best option

yes is the answer the e30 ones do fit and are better than the e36 ones you are best to swap both as a pair really and all e30 arms are the same one the standard saloons

thanks for your reply does anyone know the cheapest place to get these from just been quoted over £40 each i can get the ball joint for a £10 so might have to go this way is there a special way to put these in without damaging them as i did yesterday HELP

you can get the arms for around £35 each from euro buying the ball joints and hav ing them fitted would cost around the same anyway

E30 arms are a straight swap, but buy Lemforder ones and not the cheap rubbish. You should also buy new rear bushes as the old ones really don't like to come off.
You will detect a noticeable improvement in the steering as well. A well sorted E36 steers very well.
