Painting Colour Coded Bit On tech 1 Spoiler

just baught a tech 1 spoiler last night so dont have it just yet but i would like to know whats the best way to paint the colour coded bit, i presume this just pops off

would wet and dry, primer, and paint do the trick

is it worth laquering ????

Probably, but for mint, wet and sand to plastic, primer, (primer angain) and for a white car at least two or three coats. If your car isn't metalic dont bother with lacquer, unless you line up for job and see theres quite a difference. But i dont actually know if bold coloured beems (brill red, alpine white, etc) were lacquered.

The plasctic thing should look alright.

The rubber is a polymer made using a Zeigler-Natta catalyst, meaning its very strong and won't "corrode" as such under some paints. Not quite sure, depends if it's Atactic or Syndiotactic...

Depends on what our fields are!!!

You obviously seem to be the computer type, I am the engineering type.

That above section is actaully chemistry, higher denstity and melting point because due to the catalyst, there are only certain arrangements onto which the monomers can lock into.

Therefore, as a result, alternatic syndiotactic regular arrangement increases the density of packing, and increases the amount of Van Der Waals forces and induces dipoles on the molecules.

Medical tubing and plastic bags are made from atactic random monomers arrangements where the functional groups are placed randomly above or below the polymer chain. they can move about freely and are not rigid.

In vehicle fuels, for example, the petroluem companies often place the fraction for further reactions after the distillation of crude oil.
The get the lighter fractions and pass them over a Raney Nickel catalyst with H2SO4 (Sulfuric acid) to hydrogenise ethene moelcules.
often they produce branched molecules because they have a higher octane number and are less prone to knocking effects in the vehicle engine. Aromatic substituants like beneze dont burn well because of high level of carbon atoms nd not enough oxygen present to combust without a smoky flames.

well it arrived at 2pm today im now putting the last few coats of paint on it, i used 120 grit then 600 after to make it smoother took me about 2 hours to prep iam fooked now, put about 6-7 layers of white primer, and have put 3-4 layers of alpine white on, still needs a few more coats

would what ive done last ??

Did you use a spray gun or the cans? would like to know please. Also, how much are decent spray guns to paint things properly with?

dayumn!!!! you must be good at it, I'd be arsing around seeing it its lined up perfectly thats how SH*IT I am at spraying lol. No experience at all!!

you do standard side to side movements and make sure that you go off the side yeah? Migh experiemtn on my bedroom door, needs doin up, car paint doesnt corrode wood away does it? I'd be pissed off if i come back from work next day and theres 2 hinges left and a pile of sawdust on the floor !!!!

aint a clue tbh

i wouldnt say im the best at it!!! but ive made a lot of mistakes at doing it learn from your mistakes, eg damaging a set of 15" bbs wheels with them wire brushes you put on the end of a drill oh well there getting refurbed properly next week

the prep is the hard part took me the best half of 2 hrs to remove all the dark silver paint

just to piss the missus off lol!!!! I already FUCK*ed the paint in the bedroom up. lol, half the room is MATT and half is GLOSS mixed patched here and there. Paint ran out, theough damnn, need more, went down to wickes, picked up matt instead of gloss, painted it, stood back with a cuppa in my hand, AHHHHHHHH! FAIL!!!!

That was the worst day of DIY ever, and when i broke the central heating pipe beause i was told to tighten it
