Thats not an SE 500 edition though.NayC wrote:I thought she said she had mark 3s? and my mates is an SE and its an MFI in a light silver with two-tone darker silver/grey skirts and bumpers. I know it is standard as there happened to be one in a driveway exactly the same colours and model as his right near where we worked. Was a nice car tbh, but his had a very ragged engine and f**ked steering column. Kept putting notes on the other one once a week with no reply. Saw the owner oneday (a fit female i may add) and he introduced himself... few seconds later i saw (a heard) a massive slap to the face! Hilarious... who ever said persistance pays off?

Mk5 fella.NayC wrote:F**king hell Barry. Fair enough! I'm a beemer fan, not a ford fan! Well i like escort RS and Costworths (Sierras and Escorts) but dont know anything really. Would like the latest model escort (Mk4, or was it 5, think it was 4, the curvey one) in a RS Cossy 4x4. Theres two white ones in Jersey and one was recently up for sale/sold. Loved the whale tailand the black leather seats. Also the wider wings with a grille at the back! Also orignal escorts (the ones always used in amature rallys) they're great, and i think the series 2 RS2000... Some fast fords are nice, and i'd love to own a really nice example!
Ok, i'm a bit of a fan, but not an enthusiast or wont go out of my way to by one!
Not so much rag top bean tins, more like all mk3 and 4 escort/orions.SPADGE wrote:Barry you should hang your head in shame being such an expert on those rag top bean tins![]()

I think working for two different Ford dealers in the past and owning nearly 30 mk3 and 4 escorts over the years including several cabrios along with years of research will give me better information than a website full of inaccuracies!essexgirlracer wrote:bss325i wrote:Thats not an SE 500 edition though.NayC wrote:I thought she said she had mark 3s? and my mates is an SE and its an MFI in a light silver with two-tone darker silver/grey skirts and bumpers. The version you speak of was badged as an XR3i and was two tone strato silver over mercury grey. The had early mk4 XR3i cloth trim but with blue dashed lines as opposed to red dashed lines, this was exclusove to that edition. They used the standard XR3i 14" "dog leg" alloy
There were a few limited edition mk4 escort cabriolets.
The first was a white with white leather edition which had the rs turbo body kit and white 15" rs turbo wheels.
The second was the two tone silver and grey version previously mentioned
The third lot of limited editions came in three metalic colours, sea foam blue, amethist pink and a light metalic green (the colour name escapes me). These had half leather RS turbo recaros and 14" Cosworth syle lattice alloys
The fourth limited editions came in two different colour schemes. Metalic gold over flint grey and the other was metalic maroon over silver. These had half leather XR3i type seats and a 14" cross weave style alloy similar to BBS (These were also used on the Orion 1600E limited edition)
The fifth limited edition is whats comonly known as the "Tennis". This was white with a white roof and had half leather Rs turbo recaros along with the 14" Cosworth style lattice alloys.
The final was the SE 500 which was pacifica blue with Raven leather, RS turbo body kit and 15" RS turbo alloy wheels.
Its the metalic green that i couldnt remember, not the blue. Its something jade but i cant quite remember. I'm not going to start digging out original sales brochures to find though. All the ford stuff is packed away now E30's have taken over!essexgirlracer wrote:The colour that escapes you is auqafoam blue hun, my mate has 2 of them........
None of the two tone limited versions came with 14" Cosworth style latice wheels either. Only the pink/blue/green editions and the tennis came with these wheels. As used by 89 spec XR3i's.essexgirlracer wrote:The fourth limited editions in your list is the se500's which mine is......as said before inca gold over flynt grey, it does have the half leather seats and the bbs style wheels which are called snowflakes, they did also come with the baby cozzie alloys too
I know thats basicly what i wrote in my post apart from the green stripe but i wanted to keep the post relatively short and not go to indepth.essexgirlracer wrote:The 5th limited editions in your list was indeed the tennis which was brought out for wimbeldon tennis in 1990 it also had the green body stripping in the bumpers and limited edition light grey half leather recaro's
The pacifica blue cabrios ARE SE 500s not the two tone versions in gold, blue and red and Pacifica SE 500's ALL had the turbo kit and wheelsessexgirlracer wrote:And the final was the know as the all blue se as I previously said.......they did also do a left hand drive version of the all blue which was done by karmann if I'm not mistaken......

Do you have a link... i'd like a gander at that. A mates got some good ones made of wood, but got them off ebay so wouldn't no where to look for similar things.I may get some door builds too from audiosport but not sure............

Despite your obvious joy of seeing samshed up Escorts, did you not think that people may have died in all three of them wrecks?NayC wrote:thought i should post up some things to cheer up some of the people who are feeling queezy from all this Ford talk
