I was at the dealers recently and noticed that they have a completely different looking ETK system and a lot of my part numbers from the old system had been superceded.
The new version has windows style drop-down menus at the top and looks a lot more user friendly.
Does anyone have a copy of this?

bmw then plan to hold the database at the factory, and you'll have to log-on to get required info.
dont know how true that is?

With the speed of broadband now (especially in other countries -up to 10meg!!!) it makes alot more sense.
They will be updated regulary and the cost will be low compared to shipping out thousands and thousands of cd/dvd's.

Would bmw having this type of system mean that it will be more dificult for the everday joe blogg to find out part number? As we may not be able to access it?

Hmm... wouldn't mind a copy of this new version. Had the old one on the computer before I wiped the whole god-damned thing.
Let me know when it comes available...
Will be useful if I end up getting an E34.
Will it have prices on?
Giles.

My part's guys hate the new system and much prefer the old version. Much easier to use apparently.
