e30 Brakes question.

Me neither, it's only a pipe after all.....although I suppose there could be a seperate fitting on the pipes themselves for some related ABS gubbins.fuzzy wrote:i dont know what difference the abs would make to the hoses?
Hopefully this should do the job.
(waits for one of the regulars to point out that it's well known junk)

From what I've seen of this kit it would appear that it doesn't have the correct hoses that go over the rear beam. Certainly didn't on the one we fitted to Jake's (shedrool83) car. It has two long hose's which I guess are for drum brake swinging arms because they're at least twice the length of the standard hose's. The two front caliper hose's and two rear caliper hose's are fine though.N00b wrote:Hopefully this should do the job.

Why they use the ABS/Non ABS classification, I don't know. The determining factor is whether your car has rear discs or not. Surely it's easy enough to check this? Simple 318is owners must get confused, they have rear discs but no ABS!
Here is the definite answer for everyone who is umming and ahhing about which kit to buy:
If you have an E30 with DISC rear brakes, purchase the 6-line kit: SBW0012-6
If you (are unfortunate enough or tight enough to) have an E30 with DRUM rear brakes, purchase the 4-line kit: SBW0011-4
If you have an E30 M3, purchase the 6-line kit: SBW0300-6
