removing blue temperature sensor m20

anyone have any ideas on how to remove the blue temp sensor
without taking half the fr*ggin engine apart,can't seem to get a
spanner anywhere near it

...it's a complete bastard. I bodged it eventually with a small open-ended spanner, or a pair of mole grips or something, could get it in JUST enough to get the little shite loose, then tight again. I never thought it was tight enough again mind... but having said that, it was 5 years ago and it still isn't leaking...

If you're not one of the elastic-fingered brigade who post the better replies on here, you have all my sympathy!

I just did this, seemed hopeless at first. However, I was able to fit in a socket wrench by slightly bending the ignition wire rail. Came off easy after that, remember to have the new one ready to be stuck in if you don't want to lose all of your coolant. A cold engine goes without saying

Should be even easier if you remove the valve cover and gives you a good excuse to adjust the valve clearings while at it.

If you think that's hard, try removing one on an M40! Can't even see it,except through a little hole.

A cranked handled spanner is what you need!!
You will have to remove the brown sensor first to give good access.

Here is a poor pic incase you dont know what one is. lol.

managed to get the little bleeder out with a 19mm spark plug spanner,
by taking out the inner rubber bit it leaves you enough clearance to clear
the electrical plug inside the socket!,then I unplugged the end of the injector rail and this left me enough room to get it out.
