Is there any easy way to smoke front lights on an 87 M3 with the early lights without the projector beam?

i don't think it's been done mate, only on the later style smiley head lamps. U could easily retro fit some of these and go from there?

I think it's just a swop job but i'm not 100% sure

Have a look at the articles section at top of page, there is a guide there.

I reckon it'd be easy enough, just do the "cross" bit on both of em, like you would on the main beam of the elipsiods... I'm tempted myself - don't think the later lights would look quite right...

I would like to know from people who have done this, does it effect your light beam, because the standard lights are not the best anyhow!!!

You can get the connectors from the dealers, and is easy to convert the wiring to the later lights.

Wilson, the smoked lights have no effect on the light output over standard lights. I've read a few comments on the E30 lights being poor, can I ask, are your lights misted at all? What sort of bulbs are fitted?

I've never found them to be poor, with some decent bulbs, and nice clean lights they're great!

Definatly not misted up!, they are superb on full beam, just dipped headlifghts are a bit dull.. dunno what bulbs, but are there any in particular that are better, or that should be avoided?
