Ummm, I doubt it. With revvy engines you need low weight. For low weight you need shite metal, for shite metal you need french....
Need I go on.

I'm pretty sure I've seen it done on another forum i visited at some point it was a while ago so cant remember where i seen it done. also seen a red top vauxhall 16 valve fitted to an e30 as well ( i know there's a technical term for the vauxhall engine but to be honest its not a car I've ever been interested in )

If you had a tuned V-Tec lump in an E30 that would be good, a stock one would be robbed for power pulling all that weight around.
Also will have issues with transmission, mating the V-Tec with RWD, there are not many RWD Hondas and the ones that are around like the s2000 would end up costing an arm and a leg.
Rebuild your 2.0 lump and turbo it. Will cost less than trying to stick a V-Tec in there and you will have that same kind of effect but with a proper punch.

pet peev - vtecH is a make of kiddies toy, VTEC is the legendary Honda engine
all that said
an s2k lump in an e30 would be nearly my perfect car
e30's aint all that much heavier than s2k's if they are at all
that would be the only engine you could do it with though all the other b/k series engine's are FWD unless you went for a legend engine 3.2 vtec ...........

Honda S2000 is about 1.3 ton whats most E30's about the same if not less. The 2.0 F20C is very good engine and the 2.2 F22C having bit more torque but same power with it all moved lower down the rev range by 1000 rpm.
Saying no more don't wish to offend as I disagree with most of the above.

First you need to buy an engine and gearbox easily £2500
In order to get the engine sitting low enough (for hadling) you need to dry sump it, the kit alone is around £1500 then you need all of the pipe, fittings, oil tank which easily add up to another £700
Afer that you need to sort the wiring, i have been told the easiest way to do this is to send the original wiring loom to a specialist who will strip it of all the useless stuff and fit a new ecu. another £700
So thats £6400 before you have even fitted it and made a prop, engine mounts etc!
I was going to do this for my rally car but it was too expensive so i decided to fit a vauxhall red top instead!
Heres my progress (p3 onwards)

Aye. I have two of the Pug V6s, one saloon, one coupe. Coupe is still tight and fault-free at 168k too.Jon_Bmw wrote:They do the occasional good engine though.
Tis a nice engine in a GT luxo-barge type way. Sewing machine smooth, sounds nice and refined, particularly compared to my ASBO silenced E30 335.
