Does anyone Know of a bigger disc to put on the rear of a 325 thats a straight fit retaining the handbrake mech' and the 4 x 100 pattern.??
It would obviously need a spacer fabricating to move the std caliper further out.
(Theo325 I think I saw on a thread somewhere you'd upgraded the rears?)[/b]

Theo was/is using E30 M3 rear calipers and carriers with Z1 rear discs, and that lot will bolt straight on - if you can find a pair of M3 caliper carriers!
I don't see why you couldn't use standard calipers with adaptor brackets but I've not heard of anyone do that.

Is there any particular reason why you would want a bigger disk? I run 280 mm 4pot wilwwods on the front and standard disks at the rear but with 2pot wilwood dynapro calipers and it is really overbraked at the back. Just something to consider before you rush into something like this but you may have your reasons
Yeah z1 discs and e30 m3 calipers are bolt on, you just need to shave off a couple of mm from the carrier to increase clearance to the disc. Problem is the m3 carriers are pretty hard to come by and the z1 discs are only available from BMW at about £100 the pair.

I'm doing this conversion at the moment and Z1 disc are £74 each, but the hard part is finding the m3 calipers/carriers.

Yeah i seen your thread from a while back and thought that they were fairly reasonable but have had a near 50% increase, my full setup front and back should come in a fair bit cheaper than a front wilwood 280mm kit, hopefully any way.

Get the discs while you can, my work involves the finances of a car spares company and trust me, they will go up more!

Components made of metal are, and have been for some months now, almost all on the rise, such as; steering & suspension, bearings, clutches, pumps etc.
Prices of car parts will rise in months to come, but the future after that is somewhat uncertain at the moment, it could go either way as price wars are starting to creep in.

Dont see the need to uprate the rear discs, the money out weighs the result so to speak!
Do some thing to the front yeah, but as for the rears go for uprated pads, no need to make the discs bigger or fit larger calipers.
Unless M3 carriers fall into your lap for peanuts
My 325 has Padgid rs 19's front and rear on standard discs and that is almost an over kill for that weight of car

Already running wilwood 285's on the front and the balance is pretty good but running mostly on 16"rims now and less so on 15's. Have a pair of 310 wilwood discs and bigger spacers waiting to go on and want to keep the balance about right..
Hence the original question, Thanx for all the info, as always if it's not known on the zone it's probably not worth knowing at all!
