When pulling out of a juction this morning i think my clutch began to slip. Basicially revs shot up acompanied by a clutchy burning smell.

Parked up at my house and now it seems fine.

Should i avoid any long journeys till i've had it checked or do you think this was a one off i did accelarate hard and jerk up the clutch.

Once they start slipping there's no way back, they only get worse.

What happens if you accelerate full power up through the gears?

stick it in 4th at low revs and see if it slips when you accelerate, it will need replaced eventually but they can take weeks/months to slowly wear out
