recently i've been having trouble with my 1991 325i touring.

about a minute after starting, it will cut out (even when under load) and pretty much refuse to restart. it will however usually restart if left a fair while.

i've noticed there's no 'whirr' from the fuel pump that i can hear when turning the ignition on, should i be able to hear the pump priming?

is it maybe something to do with a cold start system?

cheers in advance!

could it also be a crack in the air intake bellow (after the AFM)? This would cause it to stall.. Maybe other vacuum leaks. as well

cheers

it looks like all of the above!!!

i know of a dodgy air hose (small one that goes onto the icv) so i'll sort that.

should the fuel pump make a whirr though? it's silent at the moment.

yeah, the worrying thing is that on most other fuel pumps i've had (inc the one on my old 320i) you can hear a short whirr when you turn on the ignition, this one does not.

coud be deaded?
