e46 rear shock top mounts???

i need to replace the rear top shocker mounts on my e30. iv been reading a few posts that people mention they have fitted e46 top mounts.
what is the advantage of this?
Do the fit without modification?
are genuine ones the best bet?

do you thing i should go for genuine mounts from bmw or some after market copies?

I used genuine, they aren't expensive.

I used aftermarket - they ARE expensive (Rogue Engineering) but they seem pretty solid.

ANYTHING containing rubber - use genuine BMW!

If fitting to saloon this is 15 miutes a side,tourings,allow 30 minutes as more dismantling is required.

do i just order e46 top mounts or are they for a specific model ie 325 or m3 etc?
