E36 Advice / Info - What does this light on dash mean ?

Picking up an E36 on Saturday which I won off ebay

Don't know much about the car, infact don't know anything so it's a bit of a risk!

But having a closer look at the dash/centre console can anyone tell me what the warning light is ?

And also does it have some kind of computer next to the clock - what is that?

brake pads low i think

Ah - think you may be onto something there, thanks - think it's the same on the E34

low brake pads. if you plan on changing them then change the pads as well as the disc as those solid discs are prone to brake judder. use good quality parts otherwise you'll always have it.
that computer is a on board computer. tells you things like brake lights faulty, fuel range etc....
