Hi chaps,
Would like to replace my e30's ripped gearstick gaitor - does anyone know how to do a fully professional job? i.e. How do you get the existing one off without doing damage?
Please help!

I think the leather gaiter just pulls out. Get a Flathead screwdriver and pries is underneath.

I bought one from ebay cost about £7.00 just remove the gear knob (pulls Off), then when the gaitor is off prise the leather from the plastic reatiner, fitting is reverse, just ned to stick the new gaitor carefully to the plastic trim

Mattsbmw - cheers for that - How do you actually get the gaiter off in the first place? Brute force or is there a correct way to make sure that i don't bust the plastic connector?

Watch you don't punch yourself in the face removing it like I have done on occasions - a good stiff yank works wonders though!
