been offered one of these for a few pence,
Got MOT etc til Aug09
But it will probably need tyres soon
are they different from standard e34 tyres?
I'm bloody tempted- would make ideal winter runaround!

The wheels for a E34 iX are *very* different to any other E34..they are 16" (not 15") and are et54
However the tyres are not special and are suppossed to be 225/55/16
How much you paying for the Touring?
I recently bought one with MoT and tax (until Dec) for £410...
Island Green, 136K miles, SE (although I have no idea of what that entailed) with parchment cloth interior and witter towbar...Working twin sunroofs and currently non-working aircon.
Since I've got it I've put 3 driveshaft gaiters on it and sorted out the fuel pipes that had been badly bodged...
Still have to sort out a missing camber switch and actuator rod and a badly wired tailgate thathas the handles incorrectly connected.
If you're buying one, be aware that lots of the parts are unique...front suspension and steering, subframe and sump...The rear diff may be a viscous one driven off the power steering pump that also supplies the SLS.
The pipes are prone to corrosion and the SLS units are prone to failure and aren't cheap!

£300 doesn't sound so bad...
However, it's an auto!!
My manual is averaging around 21mpg in comparison to my E30 325i which averages 24mpg on the same mix of driving and the M3 that averages 24-26mpg, but usualy gets driven harder...
I'd say an auto iX will get <20mpg
I'd say it would depend on the spec and condition if it was worth having at that price...
Worth it for leather interior, working twin roof and/or aircon, no major faults elsewhere and no rust or panel damage...

Well, wasn't a million miles out, then, was I, Whipsey? Didn't realise they were that rare, though...
Are you saying there were only 216 Auto 525iX Tourings in UK in RHD?
Do you know how many manual ones and how many saloons, too?
@ 320Touring: If you buy and break, I am in need of a couple of bits...

Mine is a Manual, Touring and (allegedly) SE according to the V5...
Although I don't see what the SE means, as in my view it was in relative poverty spec...
It has (or had when I got it)
Twin sunroofs
Some (nasty) aftermarket aircon
Cloth interior (standard)
Standard interior lights
Standard analog clock
Front fogs
Check Control
SE Steering Wheel
No dog nets
No headlamp wash
No intensive wash
No rear centre air-vent
No premium sound system
I've seen quite a few for sale, recently...at least 4 tourings, 2 manual, 2 auto (one of which I bought) and 3 saloons, all autos...
