Does anyone know where to get an illuminated gearknob (the one with the 3 stripes on the top left NOT the one with the ///M in the middle of the numbers)?
I want to keep it original!
Thanks fellas!

Yeah my current one is the original with the 3 big stripes on the left. It is past its sell by date so I want to get a new one.robbo86 wrote:They did two?
There are plenty of ///M-in-the-middle-of-the-numbers ones on ebay etc but none of the original ones...

Fair enough, didnt know the ones with the m in the middle were non original, but figured something about them must be different to get round the copyrighting

Some gear knobs with an M in the middle are original as are the 3 striped ones its just the only version that is copied is the M type.robbo86 wrote:Fair enough, didnt know the ones with the m in the middle were non original, but figured something about them must be different to get round the copyrighting

Dont know about wiring it up, it looks very straightforward + splice into the ashtray light probably and - off the chassis somewhere. There shouldn't be any great difficulty... The dealer has come back to me in the BMW official parts section - the striped version is no longer available... I'll just have to make do with the ///M version

mtec1 and mtec2 types. both types of gearknob centre caps are easily available (from the bmw parts suppliers at gaydon, etc) and on good old ebay.robbo86 wrote:They did two?
