Will the e36 box fit straight into the e30? Already have an e36 and want to get the matching box

Already have an E36 what? engine? diff? prop?
If your using the E30 gearbox now then try driving it in 4th, this has a 1:1 ratio which is the same as a E36 box's 5th so you would need to change the diff too to an E30 M3 or Z3 diff (maby E36 compact??) with a lower ratio to stop it being so revvy at motorway speed... unless it's a track car where close gearing and the bias towards balls out acceleration is what your after.

Sorry its an E36 engine.
I haven't driven it with the e30 box as it isn't selecting first, so i'm looking for a new box and wanting to know whether to get the e36 box to go with the e36 engine i have or just find an e30 engine.
Its going to be for track so what shall I do find another e30 box or an e36 box?
