I'd say Ԛ£6k+ for a decent one
There never seem to be that many on autotrader (and a couple of the ones on there have been on for ages) but then there are never that many for sale in general anyway
You could try asking if any one on the bmwcarclub Mpower forum is selling or knows of one?

Or theres these

this looks like its still for sale too?

I would say that an E30 M3 will cost you around 8K, whether you like it or not.

Buy a 4 grand car and you will spend 4 grand sorting it out.
Buy an 8 grand one and it will already be sorted !

Thats the reality of it, and im sure most other owners will agree.

Yeah it has to be said that if and when I eventually get round/can afford to get an e30 m3 Ԛ£8k was what I was budgeting

I guess there is the odd bargain out there though
What about that red one adaM3 bought for about Ԛ£4k just beacuse it ahd been in storage and had a silly Mitsubishi Evo wing on the back? Came with the original wing that just needed reattaching
Cheers,
Robin

There is the odd bargain about and if you want a sound-enough starting point for something that you can spend a bit of cash on I'd say Ԛ£5k was the starting point but if you want to drive off with something that will just need routine maintenance and servicing I'd say Ԛ£8k as James has said.

But you do need to be prepared for unexpected bills as owning such a car can sometimes be pretty expensive on the upkeep side. I bought a Ԛ£5k car and have spent about Ԛ£6k over two years, most of that in the first year getting it up to a good standard and then more recently just bits and bobs and servicing.

I wouldn't worry too much about mileage as long as the money has been spent as and when necessary- mine is on about 180,000 miles at the minute.

I don't think you can just name a price for a "good" example. It all depends what are you capable to do yourself.
You can buy an 8k dog or you get a decent 4k car which just needs some welding or wear and tear parts.
The condition of the car is important. I have recently seen a black M3 for
sale praised all over from the seller. But he kindly "forgets" to mention that the original engine throw a con-rod out and he has fitted a 2nd hand engine.

Best you examine the car of your choice carefully. Then decide if the price reflects the condition and how much it needs spending on.

Don't forget to check the carpet for wet areas! Front corners. If the screens are misted inside there is a fair chance of rust damage and water is leaking in.

Apart from the rust the old girl is quite robust :D
