yeah , i agree but still miss the is , the 325i se i own is cool allways wanted 1 , but the is went to ireland it was totally mint, and chipped!! janspeed exhaust leather , cool car i love em,Lordschleife wrote:Yeah they're great fun for driving hard - just gotta keep the revs upe30geezer wrote:that's quite intresting, i also had a silver h reg 318is i bought from wiltshire, i thought it was very chuckable, and great fun aswell!! they are very nippy cars.Lordschleife wrote:I wanted something to take to the ring, so it had to be german - had problems getting CRX brake pads while out there in the past
I also wanted RWD, and it had to be cheap with a bit of power
Didnt really leave too many options so I got an e30 325i
When that was sadly no more I decided to try an iS as I'd developed a liking for e30s and its not too down on power to the 325 esp being lighter, cheaper on petrol and more chuckable too
Just makes me want an m3 now though![]()
325i is better for relaxed driving/cruising/motorway mile munching though
what convinced you to buy an e30?

I needed a donor car for a kit car project. I've driven BMW for ages now so I landed on the E30 went out and bought the cheapest decent condition car I could find. This ended up being a 325i Touring - I ended up commuting with it for 2 months to make sure everything was running ok and have to say, when I am finished with the kit project I plan to go out and find another E30. So much more fun to drive compared to my current E46
Got a lift from me mate in his 80' E21 323i when I was 16. Fell in Love with them then. Got myself a E21 323i when I was 19, then an E21 316.
Next came a Mk1 Golf Gti, but it was a pile of poop. ( much FWD wrongness!! ) Swapped it for my first E30, a 320i and fell in love with them. Next came another 320i, a 323i, 325i sport, 525i and a 318i. Have now got a 518i and a 325i touring. Think I'll always have an E30 in some shape or form

My addictation started back when I was a young man, really young, old man was in the forces and we lived (I born in Germany too) in the Germany.
All my dads mates had bmw's, back in the late 80's all the sqauddies would spend there tax free wages on new cars and the parking lot at the officers mess was rammed with 325's/m3/M535's etc.
My old man would never buy a BMW, always had VW or Audi, prob cause I have two brothers too
My first experiance in a BMW was a officers M3......blew my mind, then a M5 which I can assure you I still feel the hairs go up on the back on my neck when I think about it......remember the autobahn was 5 mins from where I lived.....having only ever been in a RSturbo before hand I was totally in awe of these machines.
My first drive was a e28 528i when I was 14.....
Having driven all over europe with my family, the one thing I do remember very well is 90% of the cars that overtook us on the autobahn were e30's....I just had to have one..
Then when I was 22, a mate had a old 318i going for pennies (Ԛ£200) and I had to have it.....now on my second e30 and everyday I get in and punch it my mind goes back to the autobahn days and next thing I know the clocks showing 120 and I gotta slow down
I've now driven many cars and would not part with mine for anything, the car now feels like it's attached to me, we are "TEAM TURBO E30"....sad I know but you just will not see me driving my car without a huge
on my face!!
E30's rule....nuff said
Now trying to get the misses one....she like mine too much for my liking, she commented the other day on how well it goes round roundabouts.....I daren't ask what she was doing at the time, prob the same as me at every roundabout

I wanted a powerful rear wheels drive car that was reasonably priced and came to the conclusion that an e30 m3 fitted the bill perfectly.
I had always wanted an e30 m3 when i saw it in my dads car magazine when i was ickle. The when i was in uni my best mated bought a convertible and we had a lot of fun in that and I promised myself I would own one one day.
