there are lots of nice, used wheels here, mostly rotas, mostly for japanese cars. i don't know what offsets they are and i don't know what offset is required for e30. but if they fit and turn without hitting anything, brakes, suspension parts, etc, can i assume they are ok to use?

I have Rota Sub Zero wheels and they have the wrong offset. I think they are about 40 or something which is what a lot of Japanese cars are, E30's are about 25 I think (low 20s anyway). I have to use spacers but if you can get them to fit they should be ok.

I'm still puzzled by the whole offset debate, my handbook definately says that wheels for all cars except the ix should have a 35mm offset.
Also, the steelies that came on the car have ET35 stamped on them.
Hmmmmm
