Yeah, a French version that was apparently fashionable in the 1970s, following Maurice Gibb from the BeeGees

How about the Barry who sold you the 318is engine (congrats on your purchase BTW, sure it'll be a sweet singing chariot with that in!)

That is a damn good point, forgot his name is barry. Thanks on that I am dead chuffed, if not a little daunted by the prospect of an engine swap. Fancy coming and lending me a hand when I do it as I would assume your fairly nifty with the old engine swaps, removal etc. Wouldnt be for a while yet as I have to work out a solution to making my scorpion exhaust fit and source aomew parts, ie pedal box and associated clutch items, inc reservior. Looks like the breakers at charing might be getting a telephone call. apparently there is a BMW breakers near Sandwich, I though the only one out there was DIY motorist.

Hi Rob,
I may be able to lend a hand, depending on the work situation at the time; my previous engine removals/swaps have been: Morris Minor Traveller, MGB GT, Citroen 2CV, BMW E34 535i, so I am reasonably able at that sort of thing - should be fairly straightforward swapping one 4-pot for another I'd have thought...
Let us know if the Sandwich breakers is any good - it's been a while since I was last over that way.

Not sure, AFAIK there was just a VW/Audi breakers in Sandwich, Zen Car Factors, plus Universal Auctions last time I looked quite some time ago.
You may also want to contact bene30jane who is a mechanic and Zoner/E30 owner on Thanet, who converted his to an E36 1.9 twin-cam engine

I'm sure he'll know more about it than I do tbh...

Yeah I met him, didn't know he was a mechanic though, got his number somewhere. He was at the ashford meet in September, because I talked him into it...... Might have to send him a text see if he is going this month. Didint realise it were an m44 engine though, I thought it was an e36 m40 bored out to 1.9You may also want to contact bene30jane who is a mechanic and Zoner/E30 owner on Thanet, who converted his to an E36 1.9 twin-cam engine
Yeah my dad was insistent that there was a BMW breakers out that way but I was convinced there wasnt. Ohwell, will look it up on t'internet and solve the arguement.

Yeah it is an e36 m40, but anyway if he is a mechanic I am sure he would know what he is doing. I have another mate who is a mechanic who might be able to help me as well.

So it is, I should have read the thread I linked to
I'd be interested to learn if there is a BM breakers in Sandwich, as the Charing one can be a tad pricy in my experience.

Hi Robbo,
I'm based near Ash but sadly I am lakeside/cambridge bound this weekend (orders have been given
).
Anyway my rusty heap would put all the pampered turds to shame with it's cosmetically challenged appearance
I guess you're based in the planet of T - I did have the pleasure of spending 6 months in cliftonville a couple of years ago - gave a whole new meaning to free late night boxing

clearly you've not seen my car then, complete with reverse drag racer appearance (sits higher at the front then the rear) lack of carpet (its drying in the loft) and free swimming poolAnyway my rusty heap would put all the pampered turds to shame with it's cosmetically challenged appearance
Could always stop by next month, were generally a friendly bunch and we dont bite...... hard..... cliftonville isnt TOO bad (I live there for my sins, where abouts were you), but I know what you mean about free late night boxing, sorta occupational hazard where I am concerned.

I used to work on Northdown Road in Cliftonville, only for a couple of months mind you. I've heard of plenty of shenanigans going on there, involving immigrants, etc. I've seen quite a few incidents going down on the street in Herne Bay too!
If it's any consolation, my front footwells used to get soaked as they had holes at the fronts of the sills. Welded them up and all seems well now, but I've also yet to refit the carpet, though I actually quite like the stripped-out lightweight spec

I rented a flat on the corner of Ethelbert Road and Ethelbert terrace just up from the lido. A wise choice.......notrobbo86 wrote:Could always stop by next month, were generally a friendly bunch and we dont bite...... hard..... cliftonville isnt TOO bad (I live there for my sins, where abouts were you), but I know what you mean about free late night boxing, sorta occupational hazard where I am concerned.

Yes, it was a bit shocking - worst I've seen on an E30, having owned 4 in total.

Both fairly local to me, py parents live on St pauls rd, but I have my own little bungalow near dane park now. Its not holey floors on mine, i think the only thing to do is get me old man to hit mine with a pressure hose while I wait inside for the pool to form, and try and work out where. I thought the water was just drivers footwell but it turns out to be both. People are now suggesting knackered gasket around heater matrix. I just hope I get it sorted and its cheap.
