You will need a mono amp with 300 watt RMS power into 2 ohms, or... a stereo amp of 150 watts RMS per channel into 4 ohms and run each sub individually. Tbh though, in the setups iv had, the mono amp route always sounded better, like the amp had more controll over the subs, giving a cleaner, tighter sound :D

Only ones iv tried in the past are Sony, Vibe and Mutant, and out of all of them the Mutant was the best  was under 100 quid and was by far the best bass quality of the three. Have a look at this one: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165526 Its the next one up from the one i used, and a perfect match for your subs :D

mutant amp sounded the best? , i have to disagree i say vibe or kenwood (old skool) , and halfords are the worst place to buy stuff from, try motor-world or Car audio Security. alway go with a amp that bit more powerful then the subs as this gives the amp sum head room.

i say go for this amp , its more powerful , cheaper , and made by Directed Electronics! ,

How did you work out that that was more suitable??? 400 watt 'continuous' (ie, not neccessarily RMS) power compared to the Mutants 300 RMS (ie, industry standard measurement/rating) also being a perfect match for the his subs :? there is also usually (not all cases) a reason why something apparently better is cheaper too. As another plus point to the mutant, if Steve (im guessing thats his name) wants to upgrade his subs at a later date and buys a bigger amp to power them, then he can use this amp to run the speakers-being 4 channel (bridgeable) as opposed to the mono you're suggesting. :D

You get what you pay for with amps!!!!!

Go for something second hand - look on ebay and talkaudio forum!!

Only go by RMS figures for power - and you want minimum 300WRMS at 2ohm, then wire the subs in parallel.

Generally speaking, the more power you have, the more headroom you have, which means better quality sound and the amp having more control of the sub. You can't have too much power!!!!!! Lol!!

continuous power is RMS Power , more power is alway better. ask any expert they will say the same say and as "miniblob" said aslo. mono amps draw less current then a normal class a/b stereo amp, and if a amp says it puts out 300watts rms the real output is always less then stated , due to manufactring diffrences in componats. thats why kicker on all there new mono amps give a certificate stating the true output power and its hard to find a matching/close pair even from the same batch.

anyway stevie its up to you.
