Went to order some eccentric front arm bushes for the BM today, as running the m3 stuff the wheels are too far back in the arches now and catch at the rear, but they couldnt get m3 stuff up on the system without a VIN number or a number plate..
So basically does someone know for definate the part number for the front arm eccentric bushes or would someone with an m3 be willing to tell me their plate/VIN number so i can ring them back and get the bits ordered..
also does anyone know the part number for the e46 convertable top mounts that you use as an upgrade...

Clicky for M3 eccentric front arm bush
If Im thinking of the right part it should be number 8 - part No. 31 1 29 061 222
M3 Sport Evo tyres should be 225/45/16s

No probs.
I think this is the rear top mount you are after. Part 7 - No. 33 52 6 754 096 Click
Some people say get the E46 M3 Cab top mount, but they are the same part number from the 318Ci up to the M3.

i got a slightly different part number from BMW for the rear top mounts..
i got 33 5 04 035 9 31 (even
)
Those eccentric bushes are Ԛ£68 each!!!!! Standard ones are Ԛ£34...
Or powerflex ones are Ԛ£18 minus a bit for the discount....
I need eccentric but Ԛ£68 is alot.. might have to put up with a harsher ride with the powerflex ones at least till Ԛ£68 isnt quite such alot

I got that number from the online ETK as well as the one I gave you, but my copy of the ETK only comes up with the number I said above.Jhonno wrote:i got a slightly different part number from BMW for the rear top mounts..

The price you pay for M3 parts I guess.
I was going to do the 5 stud conversion like you (but on all 4 wheels

Yeah it is a lot.. i can get 10/15% off that but even so.. You reckon Powerflex would be ok for a bit.. its just that i got my s50 to do next month so need all pennies possible for now!!
5 stud is a lot.. i picked my stuff up nice and 'cheap' (proper M3 stuff) and it came with AC Schnitzer handling package as well which is awesome to say the least
altho tbh i reckon you are best using m3 front setup with compact/z3 rear as this will keep the track to near standard

Sorry couldnt resist.
Ive never had Powerflex on my cars, but I think they are ok. Just give a harder ride and more road noise from what Ive heard.
You starting the S50 converson next month?? Nice, bet you cant wait. And you will need loads of pennies
Have you seen the thread about the brake servos? Im using a Mk1 Golf GTi servo (as its a straight swap for the E30 servo) and modding the plenum a bit to fit round the servo. Will get some pics of it fitted soon, but Ive just painted the servo and its still wet.

how much modding does the servo/plenum need? couldnt you use the mk1 servo and then bash it a bit (technical term there) to get the clearance?
Was thinking of running without a servo to get it running but if the mk1 golf one is a gonna be a good solution i'll look into it.. its a case of where to find one tho!!

haha - supple not rolly polly
Im ordering beam and front eccentric bushes...
Not massively bothered by ride, getting the flex beam bushes due to the idea in my head that it'll be more solidly located or summat

If you still need a vin, let me know, as James said standard tyres are 225 45 16.

Pick a VIN
And don't worry about the Powerflex bushed. I have them fitted everywhere except the rear subframe. Not harsh and no noises.
Only "downside" is the sharper steering response. It suddenly drives where you want it too.

Can defo confirm eccentric bushes come as a pair in the box. My stealer thought they were singles as well, until the box arrived. 2 bushes inside. Worth the effort - I'm lowered 40mm on Spax, and these bushes def. correct tyre lean-in. Steering response also razor sharp. (The fact the old ones were sh**ged didn't help!)
