Guys,

I've been looking into a brake upgrade for a while and i've just got the S50 up and running.

the problem is i want to run 16" wheels along with 300-310mm disks and 4-6 pot calipers.

I've looked into brembo/AP and movit brake setups but the caliper to inner rim clearence they require about 65-75mm, but all i can get using 16" rims is about 45-53mm, even on 17" alpina rep 56mm is most i can get.

I'm told Tarox do a 300-310mm disk with 6 pot calipers which will fit under the oem bmw 16" (eg BBS etc, etc) wheels and a smaller disk size that will fit under 15" oem wheels.

Can any of you guys confirm this Tarox fitment and have you had any experience on how Tarox hold up againest the like's of brembo or AP Racing.

Any help appreciated.

302mmx 28mm Chrysker voyager disks fit if they're redrilled and you can use 4 pot Brembo's from the E38 under a 16" rim.
I have this setup on my car at the moment(soon to be removed tho as i'm upgrading) winkeye

My wheels are ET40 with a 30mm spacer and i have no clearance issues
I also had to convert from wheel bolt to stud and nut which isn't really a big problem.

Cheers Dave,

I think i'm going to splash out on a Tarox 10pot BBK with 310mm grooved disks and tarox 401 pads with braided lines.
Has any heard good or bad things do do with tarox. Is fade a problem, are the calipers reliable do the disks warp easily.

Any points of view appreciated.

I've heard conflicting stories about the Tarox kits but as I haven't tried them personally or driven a car that's been fitted with one of the kits i can't really comment on them as such

The last of the E34 3.8L M5 and the E31's (840 and 850) also had the Brembo's fitted

It's not a direct bolt on job though, you do need to make up some caliper brackets.
There's not as far as i'm aware another disk in the BMW range which is a direct fit unless you opt for the ultra rare 296mm Alpine ones.
