Whoever nicked my Maglite from my car is a cock.
If it was a normal Mag, Id not be fussed. However, this is one I built myself. Its totally custom, runs on special batteries, has a special charger, has been milled down inside, cut a bit shorter and is over 1000 lumens...it sets fire to stuff. It cost me over £100 to build.
However has it is stuffed....you WONT be able to charge it, so its useless.
Its my fault really...I left my windows down.....but I thought the spirit of the Zone was different....
Ho hum.

Are you sure it hasn't rolled under the seat or something stupid...
I can see an apology thread popping up soon.

TBH I 'know where it went. The burger bar i think.....my windows were up after that.
Its deffo not in the car...today was the 1st day Ive had to empty it to look for it.
I don't normaly keep it in the car...I was going to drop it off to my mate to mill a heat sink into the end on the way home.
Ah well. Its gone now. Time to build a bigger one

are you sure it was a zoner law? if it was at the photo shoot, then yes, but you get all sorts by the burger bar; the public, boy racers, bikers, etc. i would be surprised, although having said that, i have had the odd item or two "go missing" at events, sad scabby thieving*****!

That's disgusting, it puts a shadow on everyone who was there,
It means that from now on everyone at meets will be watching people who were previously regarded as either friends or similar enthusiasts with an air of suspicion !!
I can only state that in the time I was there before Wayne & I left, I didn't see any-one messing about inside cars,

Lets stop the insinuations now !
I dont think Law is saying that it was a Zoner rather the fact that it was nicked in a very busy public thoroughfare which has a lot of passing traffic and people.
I know and totally trust all the Zoners who were there on that particular day and am very confident that, if it has been stolen (rather than mislaid) that it will be some random passing person.

It could have been anyone really. Personally, I didn't see any randoms faffing about our cars, but then I didn't know who were Zoners, and who wasn't!

I second Iain's sentiments. I would feel very upset and embarrassed if I found out a Zoner was at fault.HartgeH27 wrote:I know and totally trust all the Zoners who were there on that particular day and am very confident that, if it has been stolen (rather than mislaid) that it will be some random passing person.
I too would put my trust in every Zoner present at the meet, and would have no hesitation in saying so.

I was sad to read about this, I enjoyed last Sunday and it's a pity that the torch seems to have gone missing during the meet. I hope it turns up as it sounds like quite a bit of kit.

I do very much hope that the Maglite has been merely lost. If it does reappear, please let us know. Hopefully this has not put you off attending Zone meets, and we look forward to seeing you again at the next one at Hindhead.

ive no idea who or how many where there but can you honestly say you know every zoner attending that well that you could guarantee that no zoners where responsible?

You never can tell Fuzzy, but I would be confident (as I can be) that no zoner was responsible.
As said, the meet was in a busy public car park, so if the torch was stolen, it could have been anyone.
I would certainly like to believe that no Zoner had a hand in the disappearance.

If, as Freddie Mercury claimed, fat bottomed girls make the rocking world go round, isn't it about time that the City of Portsmouth received some recognition for it's contribution to astrophysics?

I was sorry to read that your torch has been mislaid, or worse as it puts us all present under suspicion. I also cannot believe that something so valuable was so easily visible and accessible to a dishonest person. With the number of people around, one of us would have noticed someone leaning into your car and taking it? Surely it will turn up somewhere unexpected? I hope so. Jackie
