I ended up working on my uncles tourer and then got offered his old one for peanuts
Kinda haven't wanted to stray towards anything else since

Apart from when i rolled the last one and was having difficulty finding a decent tourer shell
I did consider going to the dark side and buying a ricer, started looking at imprezza's for a while but a mate took me to one side and "had a word". Not only that, i had/still have too many decent E30 bits stored to give up on them for now

Always liked them since a mate had a g reg 320i in 1995. He was 18 andit was so smoooth and sweet sounding.

Then 5 and 1/2 years ago, I happened to hear that a friend of acolleague at work was selling his BMW. I was in a 5 series at the time. Asked if I was interested, he was desperate to sell.

Wanted £5k for a 320i cabby, so I gave him £3900. His wife was pi55ed off by my dealings, but got a SLK out of it.

Was time to upgrade the family car, a Pug 205.
Hadn't a clue what I wanted, the only requirements were that it be family saloon sized and RWD - I'd ridden bikes for so long that FWD just felt wrong.
A bit of research told me I was looking for either a Ford Sierra or a 3-series BMW.
I think I ended up with the right one :thumb:

My old man got an '77 E12 525 in 1979, and then got an '81 525 new two years later. He's since been through 2x 525e E28s, an E32 735, an E34 530, an E34 525 Touring, a 528i E39 Touring and now a 523i E39 Touring.

I always liked the E12s, and he had the first eta when I was looking to change my car when I was 20. Wasn't looking for a BMW as didn't think I'd ever afford one, but found a few E21s at sensible money. Bought a 320 and despite the carb giving me problems, I loved the car, and have since been through an E21 316, an E12 528i, an E28 528i and an E30 320i 4door auto. Sold the 4door when I left home, but after 9 1/2 years the loss got too much for me, and I got the Touring.
Currently slumming it in an E46 Touring

My dad bought a 87 chrome bumper 325iSE 4door in about 1990, i went with him to pick it up and trade in his gold E21 318i. All he kept saying was about the 6 cylinder smoothness and howl

He kept that for 6 years and my mum got a chromie 318i a few years later and that was it for me. Used to go to school in it and was sunroof monitor as it was windy!

I can remember the school run with steve right on Radio 1 with tracks like dubs international just be good to me and enigma sadness part 1 playing

I was brought up as a child on Fords in the 80's and had a passion for them from a child so when i started driving it was Ford from the 80's mainly ie, XR/RS models along with plenty of other stuff, capri's, Granada's etc but always had a liking for German cars especialy BMW's. When i was nearly 19 after several Fords i was offered a silver B reg E23 728i of all things! But it was cheap and i was insured through work to drive any car/van so i took the plunge and smoked it till i killed the auto box and to which it was sold to a BMW breakers.

Fast forward a few years and i was offered a one owner diamond black tech two sport with N/S/R quarter panel damage for £500 taxed and MOT'd so after a test drive an a quick look and i was sold but much to my dismay the seller changed their mind! So after being impressed enough on the test drive i decided to look for another! A chrome bumper D reg 2dr 325i manual in gloss black/schwartz with highbacks, mtech supension, bottle tops and no LSD came up in the Loot (Before the domination of Ebay!) for £500 so this was bought and over the 6 months i had it the bug bit!

I get bored having the same car for to long sometimes so it went and another Ford came. A few years ago a metal bumper 325i auto convertibe in the same colour as the last one came up cheap enough so was bought a run untill meeting its end being bounced of a lamp post!

It wasn't untill i was lucky enough to be offered my current diamond black tech2 sport at the right price, that i found the zone through TotalBMW magazine and then that was it! Its been several E30's since plus an E46 and an E36.

Its all your falt! :D

Similar to the state I was in, only it was between a 3 series and a Cavalier.
Woke up one morning, and found a shiny, but very sick, black 318 sitting in the middle of my workshop!

in the late 80's BMW had their new facelifted e30 on the back of just about every magazine' I always said I would get one

my cousins wife fell in love with my shiny new vauxhall cavalier she made him get rid of his 6 month old 2 door 316 so I had to do a deal with him and i never looked back 8)

My first e30 memory is of a white touring that always parked near the newsagent i did my paper round from, thought it was a lovely shape at the time!I actually started my Bmw career with an e36,it was an edition of Performance Bmw some time in 2004/5 that had a red 2 door e30 on the front cover with a black bonnet and an e36 m3 lump that made me start thinking about e30's again.I thought the car looked so mean so the hunt was on for a red 325,i bought this-

Image

Thats how it ended up after i had my wicked way with it,totally stripped interior etc...just like the feature car.I had intended to have the bonnet painted satin black but sadly the engine went pop at an e36coupe.com meet in Salisbury and also uncovered lots of tin worm so that was that!Ive had countless more Bm's since,if you'd have told me all those years ago i'd have a pair of tourings on my drive i'd never have believed it!Only an american muscle car would temp me away now i think
