I attended a Welsh E30 meet with Chaos and Richy325iTouring where Simon and 325se were there, the nice run through the welsh twistys made me want one, so i bought a black tech 1 sport which is my 1st car.

when i was a kid i remember the E30`s when they first came out,
there was a bmw dealer about half mile from where i lived, the bus stop was accross the road, i spent ages over the years looking at all the e30`s they had through the dealership and said to myself one day i`ll have one of those.

Always had FWD cars and fancied some RWD action. Had watched 2 of my mates plough loads of money into the car I have (about Ԛ£9K) on mods and repairs.

Car came up as my mate got a bag of money off his old dear and got a clio 172. I offered him Ԛ£500 for the beemer and now it's mine! :D

Got to say, since having the E30, I really do like my older beemers. Would love an E28 535, M535, M5 (yea right)

If I had to get a newer beemer, would like an 840Ci. Drove an E46 compact for 6 months, it's alright but it's all a bit clinical and traction control reeling in any fun or nearly causing accidents when you pull out of a junction, slip the rear wheels a bit and then it kills the engine! Nearly got hit in the side a few times!

I hate modern cars! :cheese:
I've been a BMW fan since the late '60's. I fell in love with the E30 look when it was announced in '82. When the E30 Touring came out, a neighbour had one and I used to  every time I saw it.

When we needed a bigger car that could double-up as a delivery vehicle, there was only one realistic choice....... Overengineered BMW technology rules. :D
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

a test drive of a sport stucks in my mind too - with my old man belting at 120 on the colchester bypass and the man from the dealers looking pale

always wanted an e30 and most especially a 325i sport since then.

It was the add's back in the 80's that got me.

A friend loaned me his merc 190 a few years ago, nice smooth ride but just wasn't as involving as the E30
I always liked the way you can have a nice smooth 6 and then if you want turn it into a gokart

I was on the look out for a Cavalier convertible - in Red of course.

I was travelling all over the place trying to find a decent one (now i know such a thing does not exist) drove past a Seat dealer that had a B plate 323i convertible on the forecourt. That was in 1991, and i managed to buy the 6 year old BM for Ԛ£4200, sold it on 5 years later for Ԛ£2500 with 170k on the clock. Had to change the water pump and clutch, other than that it just went on and on.

Had to sell it in the end as it needed a new diff and the roof was in need of work, i had just got my first place and was skint so it had to go.

Had some FWD wrongness for a few years before stumbling across the 318iS i know have. It used to belong to my girlfriends work colleague, who took early retirement and sold it on to me 8)

Merc 190 :td: i had one for a short while, was my MD's who lent it to me for 5 weeks. It was $hit. So underpowered lorries would overtake me up hills & handled like the QE2. Never again...

I have always wanted a BMW after my step dad had an E31... nice 840, it was GORGEOUS with cream leathers.

Then on the 5th of July 2004 I bought my first BM. It was a lovely E28 520, and I am now on my 4th E28 (520, 520, 535 auto, 535 manual), but my friend Ziggy showed me this site and its this site that got me into E30's and that made me buy Ziggy's old 320 thats going to be my 335... I also blame this site for planting the idea of a 335 in my mind! hehe. My intentions are to have the 335 done ready for the ring next year to go porsche + merc bashing!!!! hehe

after my dad owning BM's since the late 1980's and ranting on about how good they were, after the lotus, countless fiesta's and escorts I finally decided to see what he was on about, I always liked the e30 shape, kind of almost dateless. I found my example in staffs and fell in love with it on the way home. and the arse end out action is well, something fwd could never offer!

My dad was a 2nd hand bm dealer for years and he used to race the old gt
bms in the 70s, so he taught me to drive in a mini and a go kart when i was 7, by the time i was ten i was having ago in 2002s and e21 316s. when i got to 12 i came home from school one day and as i walked into
house my old man throws me some keys and says have a look in the garage, rushed in found a e30 323 stock car. i got used to it at lid air port(disused) then raced it for half a season in juinor stock (it got smashed to pieces) but i always loved the drive and rembered it. got my first 325 when i was 16 made it look good for when i passed my test. an since the every time iv sold my 325 iv got something else kept it for a bit and got another e30. cant keep away!!..
sad i know
