Just got back from the Nurburgring and as soon as I have worked out how to host the photos I want to share with you all the AMAZING motors i saw... including one STUNNING alpina B6, and a B10 Bi-Turbo (as well as COUNTLESS M3 CSL and the odd carrera GT!!!!!!). I think as for as the petrol head world this has to be mecca!

Anyone else planning a trip there some time soon?? I'm planning on heading back again next year with my 335 I think so I can do some more merc bashing :P

I also learned a very useful German phrase while I was there...

"Ich habe gedriften mein BMW aus dern Nordschleife" I am sure you can work out what that means... and that it was MUCH fun

I just posted this on the top gear thread, but as it's ring releated, probably more appropriate here:

This week is supposed to be Sabine in the transit van rouund the ring
Apparently she was supposed to be coming over to the UK for filming at the studio this wednesday too, dont know if she did or not.

On another ring related note its 3 years today since Jørund Seim lost his life after crashing on oil in the fast section after Pflanzgarten doing what he loved - lapping the ring
I only met the guy once, but knew him through posts and discussions on the Ringers list, and along with many others on the net loved his onboard ring videos
I ask anyone who loves the ring to raise a toast to him and maybe go watch one of his vids

This month's evo has a guide to the ring - how to drive it, broken down into sections

I've only had a quick look at evo, but I've already spotted a couple of glaring errors

Laudas crash on the downhill section before miss-hit-miss I think not! It was at the left kink before Bergwerk
Also Bellofs crash wasnt at the end of the straight, it was just after the 2nd Pflanzgarten crest
Oh they also seem to spell the corners a different way each time LOL
Looks like its an OK guide though at a glance, though you'd be much better reading Ben Lovejoys site http://www.nurburgring.org.uk/
Cheers,
Robin

Hey Toby,

yeah, she ran fine after all the worries about getting her there. She also clocked over the 190k mark on the way back!

Mind you, after going all the way, THRASHING round the ring and driving back (even on the CRAPPY Belgian roads) nothing went wrong with the car, then on my first day back at work at halfords, i went over one of the speed bumps they put in while I was away and took the anti-roll bar off!!!! :x

She is going back off the road again this week I think so I can sort that, try and get my rear disks replaced and the fuel tank as I have discovered I have a fuel leak at the top of the tank which is a pain... but also an excuse to get the other tank out of the red 535 and the pump which you wanted.

Also, I think I might have aquired a new stainles back box for my car courtesy of a regular at halfords who has just had a full new system on his Alpina B9... which he runs daily along with his stunningly mint E24 635csi highline and mint E30 M3... he has my perfect garage!!!!!
