Well exusse me Mr Big balls but if you tookt he time to read what I have posted over the last pages I have been extreamly open bloody minded about it and even been curitious towards what he does.
Also maybe if you took the time to read back even further you can see it was others that were getting peevead at the car being there. I am mearly putting a point across of why people attitudes woudl have been like that.
Really biting my tounge right now as I show alot of respect towards to "Rat mobile"
It seems people think I am an anal prick because I like to have a clean car. I did not once say his car had no right to be there nor have I slated what he done in any shape. Seriously why did you even bother posting when you've not taken the bloody time to read the whole thread.
Also whats pissed me off is I even asked him if he could explain more about what he does and the whole sport. but I'll guess I go back to polising my exhuast pipes and being a narrow minded biggot like you obviously thik I am.
No wonder arguments start when people ust liek to pass pathetic judgemtns with out even taking a thought in what they type.
My oplogies to the mods on this post but I am pretty dam fucked off with the comment made about me when I been trying to open minded to both people views.

To be honest, i like rat/beat up cars, but as i said, if you like them polished up etc, then good on you.
Here is my E30 325i cab, i have a feeling you wont like me much.........

I dont think i dare start a project typr thread with what i'm doing to it!! LOL

I always thought a cab would be one of the more tricky E30's to drift due to the weight and the body roll you would get.chunkle wrote:Jesus, some like detailing/polishing others like drifting/track cars/rat cars whatever

Also another honest questiong ( like I have been asking through the thread ) I ntice that you drift guys always have the bonnet popped which I am guessin gis for cooling purposes but I am curious how much strain does the engine go under from doing it? When AJ and I were watching the drifting at the pod and he was explaining that the cars bounch on the rev limeter alot. Do you do anything different in the set up of the engien t help it iwht this o is it a case keep it runnign till it dies?
Contray to one person view I have not criticised the work and I have shown a great intrest in what it is all about and even asked wher eI could go and watch soem event and learn more about the sport. I physically would never be able to do it and as I said my enjoyment is the show and shine and I am hoping to learn concorse.
Finally I rather see and hear a E30 at full pelt than soem jap car. I like to keep an open mind to all of this but seems some people make ssumptions that because I polish I am putting down others cars.

Felix - I know you've been totally open minded so thanks
PS - I spend on average 30hrs per week on my car, every week.

MJG my msn is Felixismyname@hotmail.com I love to chat to you
Shaines pointed out to be that one of my posts could have been read compleatly different that what I wanted to say.
I was trying to say t have set u different display areas , ones for the show cars , one for the racers with write ups ect.
I have to admit I did spent a good 10 mins looking round your car in compleat awe and confussion.
Beliave it the cab takes ALOT longer to prep to show that the Alpina will due to havimg to cut the paint all the time due to the trees by my house leavign bloody irritating green marks which show up on the white paint.
Anyway Love to chat via msn and not spamm this thread. even shanie and I have been grown up and realised we both got our wires crossed in what we were trying to say.
For the drifting to be boring the standard I saw at Santapod seems to be sloopy and the guys attempting it struggled to keep control or style. There is a Jap film which I saw a few years ago which is about drifting. Kid is a delivery boy and on the route back home there is this mountine road which he is king of. Even though it had subtitles it was an intresting movie.

Yeah there were only a couple of decent drivers there, most people were pretty new to drifting and most peoples cars were more like standard road cars than actually modified drifters. Then I spent most of the day trying to drift rubbish cars like my brothers e28 520i, a 525i touring, a f*cked e30 325i, a missfiring volvo amongst other things
The thing is, there is only me drifting a BMW at a high level in the UK, and I'm still suffering through lack of competition experience and a breaking car. The other competition BMW is the sky blue m3 compact who competes in the other catagory of my championship. That's it lol. So trying to find BMWs for a demo means finding people who go to practice days or who are street-drifters, somewhat limiting the level of car you get and the level of driver.
If more BMWs were used in competition then more skilled BMW drivers would be there at santa pod, but since drifting only appeals to the jap car fans a lot of the time (with a lot of other car owners sticking there noses up) it's generally revolved around jap metal.

I couldn't beliave that tank of a Volvo was being drifted it made me chuckle. I would have thought the E30 would be veyr popular car due to it;s natural tail happy nature.
I would love to see one of the events as the drift off sounds a real spectical to watch. Who knows maybe you can teach me how to get the back end to step out! Oh imagin what the neighbours would say!

The film where he delivers toofoo and he does th emountines.
I remember the delivery car was some 80's thing and it was perfectly blanced and stuff.
The one thing I remember is he puts a cup of coffie/tea on the dash and he has to learn to do the montine route with out spilign a drop.
Also I remember a dub friend with a rich dad trying to make s drift team and he was totally useless at driving.

Mike , Chunk ,
you now what drifting is about,
the others here not so much,
I´ve been out for almost 2 years now. And it suck real hard.
I don´t care for the tramp look, but it´s a race car on a budget so what is a person to do??
You do what you can with what you have and respect should be given for that,
especially when this is one of two BMW´s in the drifting scene in the UK and a excellent driver.
Iceland : 85% are E30´s part of the drifting scene (and not shabby either)
Europe : bmw´s are gaining FAST as the most popular. E30´s of course up front.
E30´s are great for drifting, cheap, simple and easy to repair, power mods go from 100hp(m10b18 carb ´83) to
1100hp M20´s , if I where to compete in drifting I´d run a turbo S50 E30 for sure.
It´s unfortunate that some people here actually do have a chip on their shoulder (not MJG)

Right then that didn't take as long as I thought!! I take back my harsh words about Photobucket's bulk uploader!! Here are (finally after some gentle persuasion from the Gods) my pics taken at the 'Pod last year. Appologies if your car isn't featured as I only shot what was in the Zone encampment and nearby (I did want to have a look around myself you know!)
Enjoy...

Enjoy...
