How many Porches do you see in your weekly 2 mile drive?BMWAlpinaC2 wrote: and it easily leaves behind Porsche's when I'm behind the wheel.
Only out once a week for a 2 miles drive to keep the engine sweet
I am not being funny as I love E30's but what Porsche are you talking about? 356a? A Porsche Tractor?
Your car is ok, but its not mint, its miles away from being original, and its a long way down the list of the nicest E30 cab on the zone..........................sorry.

Its ok, it doesnt have to be the best, I know it's not, but what matters is that it's an original Alpina not a fake badged up thing, and the paint change may be something which decreases the value of the car and its not in the original white, but it cost me near enough £13,000 to buy this car and to me its worth every penny I spent on it, and it always gets stares wherever it goes.
I got an Audi RS6 to compete with Porsches anyway, pushing 526BHP its more tahn enough.

Seconded, why do so many on here think their E30 is going to or should live with a decent 911. E30's weren't designed or intended to compete with supercars like Porsches. Granted a well modified E30 might compete with a basic 911 but spend an equal amount on the 911 and see what the result is. The E30's got its own virtues and doesn't need to compete with other cars that have different virtues.barryj wrote:Was the girl driving it surprised when you came past with your hair on fireBMWAlpinaC2 wrote:

The guy in the Alpina D3 E90 saloon was certainly trying when he was shown the way in my Alpina touring on the A10 the other week. 200bhp don't cut it when you weight 300kgs more! still it was a worthy scalp i think

Nice car mate.... but how did you come to spend close to 13k on it, & still end up with a E30 cab ( i realise that its an Alpina , but still!) thats not in its original colour nor is it concourse?.. (you basically said as much, when you said its not the best).
The main thing is you love it, & see it as money well spent.... but the question is , where was the money spent?

they are suckers for racing, as he owners normaly think they are fast, but in reality they are pathetic

I take it it was a boxster S 3.2?spook wrote:I went out for a spin in my mates Boxster the other night, if anyone thinks their E30 can keep up with one of these, well dream on.
Keep clutching at straws ffs
My S50 would give one a run for its money and a 2.7 doesn't even come close!
Hell i used to blow 2.7 boxsters away in my 230bhp RS turbo and yes they were trying........
....very hard!

ste would regularly hand Boxter S' their asses in his 24v Touring..
I have not come up against one that wants to play yet
My M50'd car is more than capable of matching a Boxter, 1/4 times show this (my trap speed anyway, seeing as I failed epically at getting it off the line..)

I can't wait to have a little go against one, but might wait until we have a little dry weather though.
My mates got a 2.7 boxster and i have been out in that, but the power delivery in that is smoother where mine is brutle non stop m30 power(maybe i'm happy

Peniless? My cars are probably worth more than your house mate, and I'm not trying to be rude or trying to downgrade you or anything, just a mere fact.spook wrote:But the porsche owner thinks, not another pennyless council loser trying to race me againa_kara wrote:bss325i wrote: It could have been a lame 2.7 boxster!

The money wasnt spent on doing the car or anything, the money was spent just buying the car, the car was on sale for £12,500 in the Autotrader and together with time off, day insurance, work off, and so on... it cost me nearly 13k.
